Who We Are
We are Jesse and Teresa...just your average everyday couple. We are not professional building contractors. We recently purchased our home in Knoxville, TN. We went into it knowing there would be projects, but we got it at a great price and the layout of the basement was perfect for creating a small studio apartment for Teresa's son, who has Autism and some special needs.
Why We Are Here
Although we are not professional builders I (Jesse) have been in the industrial construction and design field for over 25 years. We have both done our share of DIY projects. The reason we created this site is to share things we know and things we are learning, as well as the f#%kery we are finding in these walls from past owners DIY projects...we've seen things!
Why FAFO DIY
The name FAFO DIY stands for F#%k Around Find Out Do It Yourself. Basically because we are on a tight budget for our repair and remodel projects we are trying to do as much of the work ourselves. Many of these projects are things neither of us has ever done, therefore the FAFO. Hopefully we can help others learn some "how to" based on our successes and failures! We also hope you get a few laughs from our f#%ckery. Warning some strong and possibly offensive language may slip out. So strap in and welcome along for the ride.
